HTNS recently held its first Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC) meeting, marking an important step in strengthening our culture of safety and care—for both our team and the communities we serve. Bringing together staff representatives, the committee will act as the “eyes and ears” of the workplace, helping to identify and address health and safety concerns across high‑risk construction sites, building maintenance activities, and office environments. The JOHSC also supports compliance with our Safety Plan and serves as an advisory body to management, creating a shared source of truth for safety information such as emergency procedures, workers’ rights, and key resources.
This collaborative approach reflects HTNS’s values of mutual accountability, supporting strong internal practices that enable us to responsibly deliver safe, quality non‑market housing across Nova Scotia.
