Angela Bishop
ICD.D Executive Director
Angela joined the Housing Trust with 20 years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector. She has worked in diverse roles always with the goal of creating vital and vibrant communities. Angela worked to advance solutions to the affordable and homeless crisis twenty years ago and joining the Housing Trust as it’s first Executive Director is like coming home. Angela is excited to be working with a dedicated volunteer Board who are leveraging their exceptional expertise and experience in building a legacy for the HRM community of safe, quality, and affordable homes.
Heidi Bennett
Housing Advisor
Heidi Bennett is a Housing Advisor with the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia, bringing over two decades of leadership in housing operations, property strategy, and organizational management. With experience in multi-residential and commercial real estate, she supports safe, stable, and community-focused non-market rental homes that balance tenant well-being, asset sustainability, and long-term impact.
She has held senior executive roles overseeing large portfolios, leading teams, and working closely with owners, boards, and stakeholders to strengthen performance, reduce risk, and improve service delivery. Known for her practical, people-first approach and strong governance mindset, Heidi builds systems that drive accountability and results. At HTNS, she is committed to accessible housing that strengthen communities across Nova Scotia.
Kristy Tucker
Funding and Compliance Officer
Kristy is joining the Housing Trust with three years of compliance experience in the automotive industry, as well as five years of accounting experience. Known for her detail-oriented and process-driven approach, she excels in maintaining accuracy and ensuring adherence to industry standards. As a Candidate Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, she is actively working towards her Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) designation while pursuing a Bachelor of Real Estate Management and a Diploma in Urban Land Economics. With a deep passion for the real estate industry, Kristy is committed to applying her expertise to support the Housing Trust’s mission of creating sustainable and accessible housing solutions.
Kara MacKinnon
Controller
Kara joined the Housing Trust with over 10 years of experience as a CPA in the real-estate industry. She is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University’s Business Administration program and holds a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University. She is excited to join the Housing Trust and provide financial support to the team so they can continue to provide quality, affordable housing across Nova Scotia.
Jordan Rogers
Modular Project Manager
Jordan joins The Housing Trust with seven years of project management experience in the elevator service industry, where he has successfully led projects in manufacturing, construction, and modernization. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and holds a Professional Engineer of Nova Scotia designation. Jordan also carries Construction Safety Supervisor designation and strives to ensure safety is always the top priority. He looks forward to transferring his project management skill set and technical expertise to the development and construction of affordable housing, and making a meaningful positive change for the communities.
Logan Wall
Director, Capital Projects
Logan brings a diverse background and abundance of construction project management/development experience to the Housing Trust. This skill set is complemented by more than a decade spent in business development and management. He holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University. Having worked extensively with general contractors across the Halifax region, Logan emphasizes a relationship-focused approach to achieving project success. Deeply connected to both Halifax and rural Nova Scotia, he identifies continued impact and growth in affordable housing across our province as a top priority and motivator.
Peter Lombardi
Project Manager
Peter brings experience in architecture, carpentry, and facilities management to the Housing Trust. He holds a Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University, as well as undergraduate degrees in Environmental Design and Environmental Science. His mixed experience allows for a seamless transition from office to site, where his pragmatic approach to project management meets his eye for good design and quality work. Peter is quick to celebrate little wins while maintaining a long-term vision for the road to efficient, healthy, and dignified affordable homes.
Shane Whitehouse
Communications Manager
Shane joins The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia with over 20 years of experience in marketing, design, and creative direction, leading teams across a range of industries. He has planned and delivered multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, web, events, and eCommerce for organizations including Bell Aliant, Eastlink, Totally Raw, and Web.com. With experience spanning B2B, B2C, SaaS, and retail, Shane brings a strategic, client-focused approach to building strong brands and effective communications.
At HTNS, Shane applies this expertise to support clear storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and the organization’s work to advance sustainable, affordable housing.
Chinmay Batra
Property Accountant
Chinmay Batra has over four years of hands-on experience in property accounting, working with both commercial and residential properties. Throughout his career, he’s developed a strong interest in financial analysis and takes pride in helping organizations build and maintain solid, reliable financial processes. Chinmay has always been passionate about giving back to the community and was drawn to the non-profit sector by a desire to make a meaningful impact. Joining The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia is a natural fit for him, and he’s genuinely excited to be part of a team working toward safe, affordable housing for all.

Alex joined the team with over ten years of experience supporting property management operations across residential and commercial portfolios. With a strong foundation in business management studies and hands-on expertise in administration, accounting, and operations, she brings a deep appreciation for the role that sound accounting and efficient operations play in supporting meaningful causes.
Taking a proactive approach to improving processes, she focuses on providing reliable financial records and strengthening collaboration across departments. Alex is excited to apply her skills and expertise toward a mission with tangible social impact, supporting the development of safe, sustainable, and affordable homes across Nova Scotia.
Andreas Schlief
Site Superintendent
Andreas proudly brings over 35 years of experience as a respected builder and contractor in the commercial and residential industry. His “boots on the ground” approach, delivers high quality workmanship with considerable attention to detail. His extensive knowledge and skills enable him to offer “out of the box” solutions to challenging situations. Andreas is grateful to be a part of the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia team, providing affordable quality housing solutions and whose values align with his own. One thing he loves most about his job is seeing the end result when it’s finished.
Jamie Haynes
Capital Projects Manager
Jamie has joined The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia with 20 years of experience in construction, ranging from custom home building to energy efficiency and renovation. He has obtained a diploma in Construction Management from NSCC and is a certified energy auditor. At the Housing Trust, he wears a lot of different hats and is the “in-house” troubleshooter and problem solver. Working in affordable housing is a welcome and rewarding change of pace.
Sorav Sogy
Project Administrator
Sorav discovered his passion for real estate development and construction through co-op experiences, where he supported project managers, consultants, and senior leadership on projects from early planning through execution. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University. Known for his curiosity, calm problem-solving style, and people-first mindset, Sorav enjoys balancing office work with hands-on time on site alongside contractors, wearing multiple hats as he continues to grow in the development field. At Housing Trust NS, he is proud to contribute to projects that prioritize long-term impact, affordability, and thoughtful, community-focused development across Nova Scotia.
Annie & Quinn
Annie — Office Security & Visitor Relations
Quinn — Director of Morale & Workplace Wellness
Both members of DOG (Director of Greetings), Annie and Quinn are also valued members of The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia team, bringing expertise in office security, morale, and workplace wellness. Annie keeps a watchful eye on daily operations by alerting the team to deliveries, visitors, and suspicious noises, while Quinn ensures staff take breaks, lowers stress, and firmly demands walks. Together, they help create a positive, attentive, and well-balanced work environment at HTNS.
